SPAIN, FRANCE, GERMANY, MEXICO, AND BRAZIL STAND OUT AS THE COUNTRIES WITH THE HIGHEST REPRESENTATION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>THE COMPETITION IS STRENGTHENED AS AN ALLURE FOR NEW TALENTS, INCREASING THE NUMBER OF DEBUT FILM RECEIVED &#8211; 542 IN THIS EDITION, ALMOST A THIRD OF THE TOTAL-<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>THE SELECTION COMMITTEE IS ALREADY VISIONING THE 26,000 MINUTES OF FOOTAGE RECEIVED TO SELECT THE FINAL CANDIDATES WHICH WILL COMPETE FOR THE DANZANTE AWARDS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Huesca International Festival has received a total of 1,733 short films for its 49th edition, which will be held from June 11 to 19. Works from 80 countries from the five continents aspire to enter the final selection that will compete to win the Danzante Prize in each of the three competitions categories (International, Iberoamerican and Documentary); This award is endorsed by the Hollywood Academy for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oscars.org\/\">Oscars<\/a> and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Spain for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.premiosgoya.com\/\">Goya Awards<\/a>. The high number of works submitted shows the contest&#8217;s resilience capacity in a year when health and economic crisis has hampered all kinds of shootings and productions. Outside of Europe, Mexico and Brazil lead the American continent ranking, with 45 jobs each. In Asia, South Korea, with 33 works, stands out in the first place, while Egypt and Australia are the most prominent in Africa and Oceania, respectively. It is worth mentioning that Poland, the USA, Russia, Argentina, and Italy are well represented with over thirty works each. Huesca&#8217;s convening power extends throughout the world, from Polynesia to Guatemala, through a wild variety of territories such as Hong Kong, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, Qatar, Moldova, South Africa, and Haiti.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>DEBUT WORKS ACCOUNT FOR MORE THAN A THIRD OF THE TOTAL SHORT FILMS SUBMITTED.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of distribution between each category, 680 shorts aim to the international competition, 708 will compete for the Iberoamerican award selection, and 345 are documentaries. More than a third of the total -542- are debut works.
