With this agreement both institutions commit themselves to the implementation of activities of promotion and cultural dissemination, especially aimed at the Iberoamerican short film promotion through the network of centres the Institute has abroad.<\/p>\n<p>The implementation of the aforementioned protocol has already started and spans a four-year period, renewable at any time before completion for a new period of four years.<\/p>\n<p>The Cervantes Institute is the public institution created in 1991 in Spain to foster the education, study and use of the Spanish language universally and to contribute to the advancement of the Hispanic cultures abroad. Among its activities, the Cervantes Institute looks basically after the linguistic and cultural heritage common to the countries and peoples of the Hispanic speaking community. It has branched out in 87 centres in 44 countries in the five continents.
