And the lastest in technology to give life to one of the oldest short film festivals in Spain. The first short film to receive the Gold Danzante Award is <em>El arte del Pueblo<\/em> by Oscar Vald\u00e9s (Cuba).<\/li>\n<li>Inaugural section <em>Cine para Ni\u00f1os<\/em>, which remains to this day.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=&#8221;1976&#8243; style=&#8221;simple&#8221; el_id=&#8221;1488279358840-49e46a5a-8747&#8243;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Creation of the <em><strong>Specialised Critics Award<\/strong><\/em>, with no monetary endowment for the award.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=&#8221;1977&#8243; style=&#8221;simple&#8221; el_id=&#8221;1488279460383-4f5c9e82-25c9&#8243;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First Aragonese short film in competition: <em>El otro Luis<\/em> by Alejo Lor\u00e9n.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=&#8221;1978&#8243; style=&#8221;simple&#8221; el_id=&#8221;1488279471723-49e39869-e36e&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Festival becomes an independent entity from the Pe\u00f1a Recreativa Zoiti which created it and becomes a national association under the name of <em>Asociaci\u00f3n Cultural Certamen Internacional de Films Cortos Ciudad de Huesca<\/em>, being its own legal entity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=&#8221;1979&#8243; style=&#8221;simple&#8221; el_id=&#8221;1488279555035-359d9935-75b8&#8243;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Festival reorganises its contests and its trophies are thus created: Gold, Silver and Bronze Danzante, and the Audiende Award.<\/li>\n<li>The Festival now includes restrospective, informative and tribute sections.<\/li>\n<li>Creation of the <strong>Jinete Ib\u00e9rico Award<\/strong>, conceded by the the Instituto de Estudios Altoaragoneses, with monetary endowment, for the best Spanish speaking film. Nowdays, it is awarded to the best first work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_toggle][\/vc_tab][vc_tab title=&#8221;80s&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;8579f1b5-918a-0&#8243;][vc_toggle title=&#8221;1983&#8243; style=&#8221;simple&#8221; el_id=&#8221;1488366338632-70bd8ae7-1e06&#8243;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Creation of the Federaci\u00f3n Aragonesa de Cine Clubs, replacing the old committee in the Confederaci\u00f3n de Cine Clubs of the Spanish State.<\/li>\n<li>A square is named in honour of Luis Bu\u00f1uel, and the Festival remembers him with a monolith by Javier Sauras, symbol of the tribute held that year for his death.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=&#8221;1985&#8243; style=&#8221;simple&#8221; el_id=&#8221;1488366363214-385410d0-c11b&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Creation of the first festival newspaper, under the direction of Francisco Garc\u00eda de Paso. He was editor for various editions as well as a great contributor to the Festival.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=&#8221;1987&#8243; style=&#8221;simple&#8221; el_id=&#8221;1488366395917-c204de2f-9ef0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Creation of the feature film section <em>Muestra de Cine de las Comunidades Europeas<\/em> which later becomes <em>Muestra de Cine Europeo (Showcase of European Cinema)<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>For our contribution to European film integration, the Festival is awarded the European Parliament Medal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=&#8221;1989&#8243; style=&#8221;simple&#8221; el_id=&#8221;1488366433773-3fb63c4a-eb8f&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <em><strong>Una vida de Cine Award<\/strong><\/em> is created. It is inaugurated by Julio Alejandro (scriptwriter born in Huesca) and Fernando Colomo (director).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_toggle][\/vc_tab][vc_tab title=&#8221;90s&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1488986563024-2-8&#8243;][vc_toggle title=&#8221;1991&#8243; style=&#8221;simple&#8221; el_id=&#8221;1488366500474-b82a1e51-4edd&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Creation of the <em><strong>Award Ciudad de Huesca (City of Huesca Award)<\/strong><\/em>. Carlos Saura, born in Huesca, is the first in receiving this award.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=&#8221;1994&#8243; style=&#8221;simple&#8221; el_id=&#8221;1488366546388-8244c048-3059&#8243;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Creation of the <strong>Cacho Pallero Award<\/strong>, conceded by the then named <em>Instituto de Cooperaci\u00f3n Iberoamericana<\/em> and nowdays known as the <em>Agencia de Cooperaci\u00f3n Internacional para el Desarrollo<\/em> (AECID).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=&#8221;1995&#8243; style=&#8221;simple&#8221; el_id=&#8221;1488453011217-9f46baea-cd5d&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Holds the <em>XXV Conferencia Internacional del Cortometraje (XXV Interntional Short Film Contest)<\/em>. Previously held in Barcelona (1979) an Bilbao (1984).<\/li>\n<li>Along with the Festival de Valladolid and another 8 European festivals, The European Coordinator of Film Festivals is created. It consisted of over 250 representatives from film and audiovisual festivals from 25 countries of the European Union.<\/li>\n<li>This year also sees the creation of the section <em>El inicio: las Escuelas (The Beginning: Film Schools)<\/em>. Dedicated to the showcase of Film Schools.<\/li>\n<li>Creation of the <em><strong>Francisco Garc\u00eda de Paso Award<\/strong><\/em>, to the film that best emphasises human values.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=&#8221;1996&#8243; style=&#8221;simple&#8221; el_id=&#8221;1488453083735-09f91a21-6be5&#8243;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>During the Festival there is a meeting of the European Coordinator of Film Festivals. The <em>Bulletin 0<\/em> is published in both Spanish and English.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=&#8221;1997&#8243; style=&#8221;simple&#8221; el_id=&#8221;1488453103290-5f2d59a0-79c8&#8243;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Creation of the program <em>Europa en Cortos<\/em> by the European Coordinator of Film Festivals. This was to be a test program which would later be held annually.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=&#8221;1998&#8243; style=&#8221;simple&#8221; el_id=&#8221;1488453136590-38ae8eee-f3ca&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>As a result of the huge amount of entries from Spain and Latin American countries, the Iberoamerican Contest is created, with its own jury and awards. It becomes a contest in its own right, separating it from the International Contest which until now was the one being held.<\/li>\n<li>Creation of the <strong><em>Award Luis Bu\u00f1uel (Luis Bu\u00f1uel Award)<\/em><\/strong>, with Jos\u00e9 Luis Borau, the first in receiving it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=&#8221;1999&#8243; style=&#8221;simple&#8221; el_id=&#8221;1488453156914-86e53819-c550&#8243;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First Meeting of Iberoamerican Short Filmmakers within the <em>Parallel Sections<\/em> program. Consolidating itself in the following editions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_toggle][\/vc_tab][vc_tab title=&#8221;2000s&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1488986601566-3-3&#8243;][vc_toggle title=&#8221;2000&#8243; style=&#8221;simple&#8221; el_id=&#8221;1488453198363-cd4a9011-6515&#8243;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Creation of the <strong><em>Award de la Juventud (Youth Award)<\/em><\/strong>, with monetary endowment and its own jury formed by university students, and sponsored by the Fundaci\u00f3n Anselmo Pi\u00e9. This year it consisted of 24 photography and graphic design students from the Escuela de Arte de Huesca.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=&#8221;2001&#8243; style=&#8221;simple&#8221; el_id=&#8221;1488453425041-99e733d5-9e97&#8243;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Creation of the section <em>No se quedan cortos (They Don\u2019t Get Short)<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Death of Fernando Moreno Visuales on 22nd March, \u201cgodfather\u201d of the festival and who boosted the festival since its second edition and forming part of its Board of Directors. In his memory, a book collection, on works and studies on Spanish cinema, carrying his name was created. Various editions have since been published.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=&#8221;2002&#8243; style=&#8221;simple&#8221; el_id=&#8221;1488453461632-018128b0-a736&#8243;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Creation of the <strong><em>Award Ciudad de Huesca del Cortometraje (City of Huesca Short Film Award)<\/em><\/strong>. The first to receive this award is Pavel Koustk\u00fd (Poland).<\/li>\n<li>Creation of the section titled <em>Cine y Gastronom\u00eda (Cinema and Gastronomy)<\/em>, which includes the screening of a film and dinner at a restaurant in the city of Huesca.<\/li>\n<li>Creation of the <em>Concurso Internacional de Relatos de Cine (International Cinema Short Story Contest)<\/em>, sponsored by the Fundaci\u00f3n Anselmo Pie.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=&#8221;2003&#8243; style=&#8221;simple&#8221; el_id=&#8221;1488453485433-cdbb72ea-7734&#8243;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Beginning of the section <em>Retrospectiva (Restrospective)<\/em> on classic feature films that in 2008 would become known as <em>Ventana Cl\u00e1sica (Classic Window)<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>As of this edition, the Critics Award will be known as the <strong><em>Award Jos\u00e9 Manuel Porquet de la Critica<\/em><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=&#8221;2004&#8243; style=&#8221;simple&#8221; el_id=&#8221;1488453574542-0adac456-0862&#8243;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <em>Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences<\/em> considers our Festival as a qualifying festival for\u00a0 its live action and animated short films for the Oscars.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>Silver and Bronze Danzante awards<\/strong> are now replaced by just one <strong>Danzante Award<\/strong> per contest, combining the monetary endowment of each previous award into one. The remaining awards are maintained.<\/li>\n<li>Creation of the Aragonese Short Film Contest and the <em><strong>Award Los Olvidados (Los Olvidados Award)<\/strong><\/em>, established by the Gobierno de Arag\u00f3n and endowed with a studies grant in coordination with the Festival de Cine de Fuentes de Ebro.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=&#8221;2005&#8243; style=&#8221;simple&#8221; el_id=&#8221;1488453632460-572b21b6-df81&#8243;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Creation of the Fundaci\u00f3n Festival de Cine de Huesca (Huesca Film Festival Foundation).<\/li>\n<li>The Youth Jury becomes part of the International Contest and its members reduced to five, two of them from Spain.<\/li>\n<li>End of the European Coordinator of European Film Festivals and with it the end of the program <em>Europa en Cortos<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=&#8221;2006&#8243; style=&#8221;simple&#8221; el_id=&#8221;1488453649256-461a3b2e-52bc&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Creation of the <em>European Documentary Contest<\/em>, with its own jury, Danzante Award and monetary endowment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=&#8221;2007&#8243; style=&#8221;simple&#8221; el_id=&#8221;1488453677637-a41671c3-cd1c&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Collaboration agreement signed between the <em>Huesca Film Festival<\/em>, <em>Universidad de Zaragoza<\/em> and <em>Diario del Altoarag\u00f3n<\/em>.
