The students of IES Montes Negros in Gra\u00f1\u00e9n (Huesca) have studied Goya’s paintings not merely as static artworks displayed in a museum but as living entities brought to life through their work, combining painting and cinema.<\/p>\n

The original idea was to “animate,” giving life and movement to some of the Black Paintings.<\/i> The project continued with the engravings from Los Caprichos, The Disasters of War, Los Disparates,<\/i> and The Third of May 1808<\/i>, allowing the students to discover that these paintings predominantly reflect a sense of movement, positioning Goya as a precursor to the Lumi\u00e8re brothers.<\/p>\n

Goya’s influence extends beyond the reproduction of images. The atmospheres depicted in his works, the themes, social critique, storytelling techniques, and the seeds of modernity that originated with him serve as inspiration for filmmakers.<\/p>\n
