Ewa is determined to pursue a career as an artist now that her son Jakub is about to start school. She becomes pregnant unintentionally, but the restrictive abortion law in Poland leaves her no choice. In order to meet her family’s expectations and social pressure, she keeps her condition a secret for the time being. In her final desperation, Ewa has to make a momentous decision.

Masha Mollenhauer

After several firm direction internships on film sets, they worked on numerous film projects, including series, as assistant director and script supervisor. Masha graduated their bachelor’s degree in Theater studies and Philosophy, with a focus on gender roles in film, and completed their master’s degree in film Directing at the Hamburg Media School in September 2024, where they met the Polish-German author Larissa Jacobsen, who wrote The Good Woman.
